Just When You Thought Your 350-lb. Safe Was Safe...

A safe with a loaded gun and jewelry inside was stolen, topping the Haddonfield police blotter this week.

A resident in the unit block of Lane of Acres said a 350-lb. safe was stolen from their home on Friday, March 23 between 6 and 10:15 p.m., according to a police report.

The safe contained a loaded gun, jewelry, silverware and "expensive watches," the resident said. The weapon was registered. Police have reported no suspects.

$11K Watch Stolen from Occupied Home

A man in the 100 block of Kings Highway West said someone entered his home around 10:15 a.m. on March 20 while he was upstairs working. The thief made off with an $11,000 Breitling watch.

The man said he thinks the thief was scared away by his dog barking and him coming down the stairs. He told a reporter that the watch was of "priceless sentimental value as it was a gift from my wife. I hope they catch this bastard!"

6-Year-Old Boy's Bike Stolen

A woman reported her son's unlocked bike was stolen overnight from in front of their home in the 200 block of Hawthorne Ave. on March 18. She said the bike was near the sidewalk when last seen.
