One-Alarm Fire Today Quickly Brought Under Control
The fire on Summit Avenue was brought under control shortly after firefighters arrived.

A one-alarm fire this afternoon in the 200 block of Summit Avenue was quickly brought under control with no reported injures shortly after it was reported at 12:24 p.m.
Haddonfield Fire Co. No. 1 Chief Joe Riggs said: "Upon arrival, there was a smoke condition coming from the roof area of the attached side porch of the dwelling. Fire crews were able to quickly cut openings in the roof and facia/soffit areas and used compressed air foam to extinguish the fire.
"There was no fire extension into the main portion of the home, however there was considerable amounts of smoke throughout the second and third floors of the single-family dwelling. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshal's Office, and is likely related to contractors use of equipment to remove paint."
