Auto Repair Shop Fire Under Investigation In Somerset County

Firefighters from Somerset Fire Rescue, Little Rocky Hill, Griggstown, Middlebush, Franklin Park, and North Brunswick extinguished the fire.

FRANKLIN, NJ — A fire at an auto repair shop in Franklin is under investigation on Thursday.

On Thursday at 1:50 a.m., Franklin Township Police responded to Car Pro Auto Repair at 2045 Route 27 for a report of a fire.

Officers saw visible flames and smoke coming from the building, said Franklin Township Acting Public Safety Director Lloyd Fredericks.

Firefighters from Somerset Fire Rescue, Little Rocky Hill, Griggstown, Middlebush, Franklin Park, and North Brunswick fire companies came and extinguished the fire.

The North Brunswick Police Department, Robert Wood EMS, and PSE&G also came to help.

No injuries to civilians or emergency personnel were reported.

Route 27 was closed between Schmidt Lane and Hidden Lake Drive for around 1.5 hours as fire crews worked to extinguish the fire.

The Franklin Township Fire Prevention Department is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
