Diabetes Won't Stop This Hillsborough Athlete From Playing Sports

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

He is my son.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

Matthew works hard, and despite being recently diagnosed with Diabetes, has really dealt with his diagnosis well. He goes to practices and watches his Dexcom to be sure his glucose numbers are where they need to be. He loves playing for the Jr. Raiders, and he loves baseball. He is kind and helpful.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

Matthew has Type Diabetes, but that is not going to stop him from playing the sports he loves.
