Driver Dies In I-287 Crash After Hitting Multiple Trees, Overturning In Somerset Co.: PD
A Passaic County man died following the crash on Sunday morning, said state police.
FRANKLIN, NJ — A Passaic County man died following a crash on Interstate 287 on Sunday morning in Somerset County.
On Sunday at 3:14 a.m., New Jersey State Police Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on I-287 South at milepost 12.1, for the exit 12 ramp in Franklin Township, said Sgt. Charles Marchan.
Based on a preliminary investigation, a 48-year-old man from Totowa was driving an Acura passenger car traveling south on I-287.

While exiting at exit 12, the vehicle ran off the roadway and impacted multiple trees before overturning, said Marchan.
As a result of the crash, the driver sustained fatal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available. The name is being withheld pending notification.
