Emergency Repairs Close Amwell Bridge for 30 Days In Somerset County
The Franklin Township Bridge will be closed until the end of February. The buckling bridge has been deemed structurally deficient.

The Amwell Road bridge that crosses a canal between Market Street and Millstone Borough has been closed for emergency repairs. The Franklin Township bridge will remain closed until the end of February.
The bridge was closed at the request of the New Jersey Department of Transportation, who will be collaborating with Franklin Township and Somerset County to minimize the traffic impact on local drivers, Franklin Township officials stated. The closure follows multiple reports of flooding on nearby causeways.
Hillsborough Police stated in an online alert that the Millstone Causeway on Amwell Road is “closed indefinitely.” Police are urging residents to plan ahead, as the bridge closure will continue to cause major traffic delays in the area.
