Firefighters Rescue Jet Skiers From Raritan River In Somerset County
Firefighters used ATVs to access the area where the jet skier was stuck and also deployed boats during the rescue.
FRANKLIN, NJ — Volunteer firefighters rescued two jet skiers stuck in the area of the Raritan River in Franklin Township on Wednesday.
At 2:07 p.m., the East Franklin Fire Department was called for a water rescue of 58-year-old husband and wife jet skiers stuck in the area of the Raritan River by Wendy’s on Easton Avenue.
The Franklin Township Police Department received a 911 call from a man who was in distress, which was traced to a location behind 935 Easton Ave., said Franklin Township Police Captain Vincent Wilson.

Firefighters began checking various locations to pinpoint the exact location of the distressed jet ski, said the fire department.
They started walking south on the D&R Canal towpath when firefighters found the jet skiers in the river west of Landing Lane, closer to Wendy’s, said the fire department.

Along with deploying a boat, ATVs were used to access the area.
The jet skiers were not injured and was only stuck.
"Director Maeweather extends her gratitude to all the agencies involved in the successful operation and urges the community to prioritize safety when enjoying recreational activities on the water," said Wilson.
