Funeral Arrangements Set For Hillsborough Fire Chief
Fire Chief Tom Marvits, who served the township for over 11 years, died on Jan. 15 after suffering from complications from COVID-19.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - Funeral services have been announced for Hillsborough fire chief Tom Marvits, officials said.
Marvits, who served the township for over 11 years and was an active member of Hillsborough Fire Company #3 (Station 38), died in the line of duty on Jan. 15 after suffering from complications from COVID-19, the Hillsborough Township Fire District reported last week.
He is survived by his wife Colleen and their two children. According to his obituary, he just turned 54 years old on Dec. 10, 2022.

A visitation will be held at the Hillsborough Funeral Home (796 Route 206, Hillsborough) on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Limited parking will be available at the funeral home, fire district officials said. No fire apparatuses will be permitted; carpooling is encouraged.

A funeral service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church (381 South Branch Road, Hillsborough) on Saturday at 10 a.m., with fire departments set to muster at 9 a.m. A staging manager will be onsite to direct personnel.
Those interested in attending the Faith Lutheran Church service are asked to RSVP with a head count to the Hillsborough Fire Marshal’s Office at (908) 369-4313 ext. 7178.
