Hillsborough Crime - See The Latest Data

The Department of Law and Public Safety has released the latest crime data in its Uniform Crime Report.

The Department of Law and Public Safety today, April 17, released the 2013 Uniform Crime Report (UCR), which shows crime data for the state and municipalities.

Hillsborough’s violent crime remained flat in 2013 from 2012, the UCR said. The township, however, had a decrease in non-violent crime in 2013, compared to the previous year.

The Department of Law and Public Safety’s report indicated New Jersey’s overall crime rate decreased by seven percent in 2013, compared to 2012, according to a press release from the department.

Hillsborough reported 7 violent crimes in 2013, flat from 7 in 2012, and the violent crime rate per 1,000 people remained steady at 0.2, the report said. The township saw a decrease in non-violent crime, from 282 in 2012 to 194 in 2013. The non-violent crime rate per 1,000 decreased, from 7.3 in 2012 to 5.0 in 2013.
