Hillsborough Fishing Derby Winners Announced

85 young anglers participated in Hillsborough Township's Annual Fishing Derby on Sept. 5.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — On Sept. 5, the Fishing Dock and Pond at Ann Van Middlesworth Park was packed with 85 young anglers hoping to reel in the Big Catch at the Hillsborough Township annual Fishing Derby.

Hillsborough Mayor John Ciccarelli was joined by Township Employees and members of the Hillsborough Police Department to assist with hooks and bait.

Committeewoman Samantha Hand had the honor of recognizing the top three finishers:

  • Anthony S, age 3, caught a 21.9 oz fish
  • Robbie B, age 9, caught a 22 oz fish
  • The top prize went to Jayden D, age 11, who caught a 70.7 oz Catfish

"Congratulations to all, and we hope to see everyone back next year!" said the Township.
