Hillsborough Mom Continues To Fight As Cancer Spreads, Family In Need Of Help
A GoFundMe has been set up for Amariliz Lopez and her family, who need "strength, hope, and love now more than ever."

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — It's been three years since Hillsborough mother and wife Amariliz Lopez was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. And her fight continues.
Lopez was diagnosed with ovarian cancer on June 11, 2022, just a day after her birthday. She had surgery, and then two years later, she was diagnosed with breast cancer(stage 2 triple negative ductal carcinoma).
The family has been struggling throughout Lopez's battle and they also lost their car in a bad accident on Dec. 22, 2024, when her husband, Mike, and son, Julian, were in a head-on collision.

The car is totaled, and they are waiting on insurance. Disability stopped coming in, and Lopez continues to undergo multiple surgeries.
As of Thursday, her condition has worsened — her cancer has spread to her cervix and ovaries, and disability support still hasn’t come through.

"She’s battling not only the physical toll, but the emotional weight of this fight as well," said Marcy Weber, a friend of Lopez, who set up a GoFundMe fundraising website for the family.
The fundraiser has raised close to $8,000 of the $20,000 goal.
"She needs strength, hope, and love now more than ever," said Weber. "Please consider donating or sharing her story to help lift her up during this incredibly difficult time."
