Hillsborough Township: Tree Preservation Ordinance

The Engineering Department would like to advise the public that Hillsborough has a Tree Preservation ordinance. Before removing the trees on your property, please review code 188-160 to 166 on the Township website, or call the Planning and Zoning Office for details.

There are different requirements depending on the location and/or type of property. The Engineering Department would like to emphasize that if you are located within an approved subdivision, existing trees and/or newly planted trees as part of the developer’s approval may not be removed.
