Local Residents Inducted into Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society

Membership into the honor society is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.

Five Hillsborough residents were recently initiated into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

According to a release from the honor society, approximately 32,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni are initiated into the honor society each year. Members can only be inducted by invitation and require nomination and approval by a chapter.

  • James Strickhart of Hillsborough initiated at Texas A&M University–Commerce
  • Grace Pugh of Hillsborough initiated at The College of New Jersey
  • Craig Ismaili of Hillsborough initiated at The College of New Jersey
  • Jennifer Sharo of Hillsborough initiated at The College of New Jersey
  • Alyssa Mangel of Hillsborough initiated at The College of New Jersey

Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors, having at least 72 semester hours, are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
