Norm Hewitt's "Proven Methods-Real Results" Coaching Clinic Benefit for Gary Zackeru

We're running a benefit for Gary Zackeru, long time friend and coach within our Hillsborough Little League.  Gary has been stricken by ALS and has now been restricted to limited activities.  His contributions to the Hillsborough community are immeasurable, and his loyalty to baseball and the local leagues unmatched.
The time is 1-4 p.m., and all contributions will be donated to the Gary Zackeru Fund. 

Instructors:

  • Coach Norm Hewitt: Member of Coaches' Hall of Fame, 8 time Coach of the Year, Approaching 650 wins, Has appeared in 16 SCT Finals capturing 7, Captured 8 State Championships,  Has placed over 200 players into the collegiate ranks, has coached 19 college All Americans, and 7 professionals.  He currently has 20 active players on the collegiate levels, and he serves as a consultant to Jugs Sports Inc. and The Coaches Directory.  Coach Hewitt is a member of Swarthmore's Who's Who;
  • Steve Barrett, Asst. 2 Time HS Coach of the YearEric Eden Assistant Varsity Coach Attended FCCJ and Western Ill. U on baseball scholarship.  Played professionally for the Laredo Broncos and the Newark Bears.  Currently serves as a private instructor.;
  • Ryan Kane, Assistant Coach Montgomery HS. Caught for Kean University and acts as a private instructor;
  • Rob Kumbatovic, pitcher, Hofstra University.

Topics:
PITCHING AND CATCHING...The dominant Factor of Baseball Coach Hewitt's unique methods will be offered to those in attendance.  Over 60 of Coach Hewitt's pitchers have moved on to the college and professional levels. He has presented his instruction and methods to the NJSCA on four occasions and has invented several teaching aids which have provided remarkable results. 
Topics include: Maximizing performance and minimizing injuries. Three areas of investigation... Physical, Mechanical, and Mental 
Increased velocity, more effective movement on the ball, learning to change speeds and arm angles effectively.

LEARN TO THROW MORE STRIKES WITH GOOD MECHANICS AND DIRECTION OF DELIVERY.

GRIPS, FINGER PRESSURE, AND SERIOUS METHODS TO IMPROVE:2 and 4 seam fastballs, difference in their movement,  slider, cut fastball, change ups and the various grips and deliveries, knuckle balls, and value of modified spins.

CATCHERS: 
Better methods to improve: Blocking, lateral movement, stealing strikes, solidifying a more productive stance, receiving techniques to build confidence in your pitchers, Coach Kane will investigate and demonstrate improving the ability to throw out runners.  Learn a quicker release, a more accurate and stronger throw, and the mental approach to a smarter pitch selection.  Learn the secrets that have sent so many of our catchers into the college ranks. Question and Answer sessions will be available throughout the entire Clinic.
