Police Disarm Distressed Kaler Street Resident

Family member reports concern for resident's well-being.

Hillsborough police were able to talk a Kaler Street resident out of his house, after he had refused to open the door for officers checking on him.

The incident occurred at about 4 p.m. Saturday, after a family member reported concerns about the resident's state of mind. Police called the house, and attempted to get him to leave the property.

When he refused, police requested assistance from the Somerset County Emergency Response Team in fear he was possibly feeling suicidal. Before the county team arrived, however, police were able to get the resident to open the door of his house.
