"But as you can imagine, that salary alone won’t be enough to support and raise her sons in the way they’ve been living up to today," said Marta Pateiro to Patch, who set up the fundraiser.

Funds will be used to help this family cover costs, including helping their children with school, activities, clothing, and food.

"It is during these difficult moments that humans come together the best, and we hope we can count on you to help us rally around this special family that we love so dearly," said Pateiro.

"One of the best people I met in my life. It takes a lot for me to say that about someone. Brian was genuine; he was always respectful and made you feel like what you said mattered. This world needs more people like him, that’s why his loss is so painful. I’m gonna miss you brother," wrote a mourner on Coit's tribute wall.
