Weis Supermarket Sets Aug. 25 Opening

Weis Markets announced Friday that its Hillsborough store will open at 6 a.m. Aug. 25.

The opening will include a grand opening community celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m.

The 55,200-square foot unit is located in the Hillsborough Promenade near Lowe’s on Route 206 in Hillsborough. The new Weis Markets will feature expansive fresh departments, including a large produce department with a greater selection of organic fruits and vegetables, a full-service pharmacy and more.

The store has already hired 200 associates and is looking to fill an additional 50 positions. Those interested in applying for employment may do so at the store or by visiting the careers section on the company website. 

Weis will fill the void left by the closure of the Pathmark grocery store in 2012. The company has been refitting the store since January.
