Man Kidnapped Girl, Sexually Assaulted Her At Route 3 Motel: Prosecutors
A man offered a girl a ride in West New York, then brought her to Route 3, where he sexually assaulted her at a motel, prosecutors say.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A North Bergen man was charged Thursday with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a child, prosecutors said Friday.

On Monday, according to Hudson County prosecutors, a man approached a 14-year-old girl in the area of 60th Street and Bergenline Avenue in West New York.
The unknown man offered her a ride, then drove to a motel on Route 3 in Secaucus and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors say.

Jesus Ruiz Merino, 43, was arrested at his home in North Bergen on Thursday and charged with first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child, prosecutors said.
He was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Center to await his first appearance in court, prosecutors said.
