A Great Escape to the Great Outdoors
Mahlon Dickerson Reservation has lots to escape to.
Sometimes a great escape involves being with friends, or maybe sometimes with that special someone. Sometimes it means being all alone. At Mahlon Dickerson Reservation, any or all of those scenarios are possible.
Nice weather is on the way (we’re pretty sure, anyway), and the reservation is someplace to go to watch nature come back to life with the spring.
The 3,200-acre park contains the highest point in Morris County at the Pine Swamp. There are four activity areas at the park. Included are two camping areas, in case the need for a great escape extends to a whole weekend. One camping area has tent sites and Adirondack shelters, while the other includes seasonal water hook-ups and electric.

The reservation also includes hiking, biking and horse-riding trails, along with fishing, ice skating and picnicking. The picnic sites include a pavilion, ball field, exercise area, tables and charcoal grills.
Oh, and if that great escape gets romantic, there are spots designated for wedding ceremonies on the reservation.
