Five intoxicated men asked to leave golf course before one takes issue with employee, police report.

One Sparta Township man would probably like to call a mulligan on a recent golf outing.
Sparta Police arrested Keith Peterson, 57, on Oct. 14 after he allegedly became intoxicated at Skyview Golf Club, got into an argument with an employee, then struck a golf cart with his truck before leaving the course.
At 5:30 p.m. police responded to the golf course for a report of five intoxicated golfers that were refusing to leave the course after management has asked them to go, Sgt. Dennis Proctor said.

When police arrived at his home and spoke with Peterson, the man became argumentative and admitted to hitting the golf cart but didn’t think he needed to report it, Proctor said.
When police advised Peterson he was under arrest, he tried to flee back into his home, Proctor said. He was eventually subdued and taken into custody.
The injured golf club employee refused medical attention.
