Half Of Sparta Without Power Tuesday Afternoon

SPARTA, NJ — About half of all Sparta residents are without power Tuesday afternoon, according to JCP&L.

4,085 homes are without power as of 2:01 p.m. Roughly half of the town's JCP&L customers are affected. Police say businesses, schools, and traffic lights are affected by the power outages. A current estimate shows power being back by 4:30 p.m.

It was not clear specifically which businesses, schools or roads were affected by the outages.

Residents should not call police about the outages. Outages can be reported to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTS.
