Lighting Strike Damaged Sparta Home, Fire Department Says
In addition to damaging the house, the hot tub was destroyed.

SPARTA, NJ — A Sparta home was damaged after it was struck by lighting during Tuesday night's storms, the Sparta fire department said.
The lighting hit the backyard before 10:30 p.m., fire officials said, causing a lot of smoke. The strike traveled from the backyard into the home, destroying a hot tub, deck, sliding glass door and interior wiring.
There was no fire, and thermal imagining was used to check for hot spots. The main breaker was used to secure electric service.
