New Year's Forecast: What Weather To Expect In New Jersey

NEW JERSEY — New Jersey will welcome 2022 with rain and wind, according to the weather forecast for the weekend ahead.

There's a chance of rain starting at 4 a.m. on New Year's day and rain will likely continue to pour for the rest of the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

It will also be foggy throughout most of the weekend, with temperatures as low as 26 and as high as 64 degrees.

On Monday, however, the sun will be out once again.

Here's the latest forecast:

Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph.

Friday Night: Rain likely, mainly after 4 a.m. Patchy fog after 1 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 46. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

New Year's Day: Rain. Patchy fog before 10 a.m. High near 64. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Rain. Patchy fog after 1 a.m. Low around 54. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Sunday: Rain likely. Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 64. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Sunday Night: A chance of rain before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
