Freehold Regional High School District Adopts 2% Tax Increase

The board adopted a $191.7 million budget.

The Freehold Regional High School Board of Education has adopted an almost two percent tax increase this year, according to The News Transcript.

The budget is $191.7  million, relaying on a $123.2 million tax levy. According to The News Transcript, Business Administrator Sean Boyce said banked cap funds from prior years mean the board could have increased the taxes by 5.5 percent.

State mandates, including a new standardized testing format and requirements required more spending this year, according to Superintendent Charles Sampson in The News Transcript.
