HOWELL, NJ — Police activity was reported in the area of Candlewood at about 4 p.m. for a shoplifting suspect, police said.
Schools in the area were placed on a temporary lockdown as a precaution only, police said.
The suspect abandoned a vehicle in the area, police said.
