Man's Death Under Investigation; Multiple Properties Being Probed, Authorities Say

Authorities are asking people to stay away from the two area, the prosecutor's office said.

HOWELL, NJ — Authorities were continuing to investigate at "multiple locations" in Howell on Thursday afternoon in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in the township Thursday morning.

No information has been released about the man, who was found dead "in the vicinity of" the 170 block of White Street, a joint statement from Monmo Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago Howell Police Chief John Storrow said.

The man's body was reported to authorities at 6:41 a.m., according to the statement. Law enforcement has been at the scene all day and while the police presence will be reduced, it is continuing at "multiple locations," authorities said.

Authorities also are investigating at Southport Drive in the vicinity of Chestnut Hill Road in the Candlewood section and the two sites appear to be related, the prosecutor's office said earlier in the day.

The Major Crimes Bureau of the prosecutor's office, the Monmouth County Emergency Response Team and Howell Township police are at the scene. Residents and drivers are being asked to stay away from the areas, the prosecutor's office said.
