Sober Living Homes Ordinance Up For Final Vote In Howell

HOWELL, NJ — The Howell Township Council is set scheduled for a final vote on an ordinance on Tuesday night that will tighten restrictions on sober living homes in the township.

The council meeting is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the meeting room on the second floor of the Howell Township municipal building, 4567 Route 9.

The ordinance, No. 0-25-33, would amend the Howell Township ordinance chapter 188 on Land Use, setting rules for how close a sober living home can be to a school and to other sober living facilities, along with the requirements it must meet to be licensed by the state.

The agenda for the meeting also includes an ordinance to add jobs for a public information officer and several stipends for positions, and approving traffic enforcement for some private sites.
