Woman Critically Injured As Vehicle Hits Building In Howell

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.

HOWELL, NJ — A woman remained in critical condition Tuesday following a crash where a vehicle hit a building on Route 547 on Sunday, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said.

The woman, whose identity was not released, suffered numerous injuries in the crash that was reported at 9:52 a.m. Sunday, the prosecutor's office said.

The preliminary investigation showed the woman was driving south on Route 547 near Oak Glen Road when she ran off the road to the right side, drove over a concrete median island into a parking lot and into the side of a business, authorities said.

The business that was hit was not named. It was not open at the time of the crash and there were no other injuries, the prosecutor's office said.

The investigation into the crash is continuing and no charges or summonses have been issued at this time, the prosecutor's office said.
