JERSEY CITY, NJ — Five people were shot on Sunday in Jersey City during an "unauthorized" block party, said a city spokesperson.
Police headed to the area of Ocean Avenue and Wegman Parkway after 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning on reports on a disorderly crowd and double-parked cars, then heard several gunshots, said Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione.

They headed to the area of Bidwell and Ocean Avenues and saw someone in the street. The person was taken to a local hospital and listed in critical but stable condition.
