97-Year-Old Man Dies Of Injuries In Downtown Jersey City Fire: Prosecutors
A 97-year-old man rescued from a downtown Jersey City fire has died, prosecutors said.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A 97-year-old man who was rescued from a fire in downtown Jersey City on Thursday has died from his injuries, prosecutors said.
Firefighters found Albert Von Chorba injured shortly after 1:30 p.m. last Thursday when they headed to his basement apartment at 318 York St. to put out a fire, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
Von Chorba had serious injuries and was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, and later to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, prosecutors said.

He was pronounced dead shortly after noon on Sunday, prosecutors said.
The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Jersey City Fire Department investigated the fire, prosecutors said. They said that foul play is not suspected and the cause appears to be electrical in nature.
