JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City's historic downtown area and pedestrian plaza are always worth a stroll. But this Saturday, you can also see the artists and vendors show off their best wares at the All About Downtown Street Fair, which will also include live music, a beer garden, and children's events.

The fair runs Saturday, Sept. 9 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Get updates and more information here.)

"The Street Fair features vendors selling everything from handmade candles and jewelry to local businesses promoting their services and wares," says the Downtown Special Improvement District. "The fair also has kids' rides and face painting, beer gardens, and live music throughout the day!"

The fair is also less than a mile from the Newport Mall, waterfront, and popular parks like Hamilton Park, for those wanting to get in more sightseeing. (See it all on the map here.) And Jersey City was named one of the 11 up-and-coming foodie towns by Food & Wine Magazine last year.

The historic brownstones and streets of downtown Jersey City are also worth a look, as is the Newark Street pedestrian plaza. (See photos of the $7 million revamp of "Restaurant Row" here.)
