Another Downtown Jersey City Restaurant Announces It Will Close

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Fresh on the heels of two popular Jersey City restaurants and a store announcing their closings, another restaurant and a small business have joined the fray.

On Friday, Jan. 5, Tribos Peri Peri, a Portuguese restaurant downtown, announced it will close.

They wrote, "This decision was not made lightly, and we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the support you have shown our Jersey City location over the years. It has been an incredible journey, and we are truly grateful for the relationships we’ve built with our loyal Jersey City customers.

"We want to assure you that this decision was made after careful consideration regarding unforeseeable leasing related factors.

"Thank you to each and every one of you for your patronage. It has been our pleasure to service to Jersey City community and we hope to see you during our relaunch in the future."

The restaurant is located at 109 Christopher Columbus Drive.

On social media, a fan wrote in response, "Nooooo! I hope you find another JC location. We order here constantly."

Meanwhile, Downtowner Jersey City wrote early this week that Saturday, Jan. 6 will be their last day, and they're offering deals.

"We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all our amazing customers who have supported us over the past 4.5 years! We have loved every minute of our time running Downtowner mainly because we met all of YOU!... If something exciting happens in the future, you will all be the first to hear about it. So please do stick around!"
