JERSEY CITY, NJ — The Bank of America announced this week that they have leased 21 floors of a waterfront building in the Newport section of Jersey City.

A Bank of America spokesperson said the lease at 525 Washington Blvd. is the only new lease in excess of 500,000 square feet signed in New Jersey in the last decade.

The bank hopes to move to the location in early 2026, moving some employees from 101 Hudson St.

Alberto Garofalo, the market president of Bank of America New Jersey said, “Through this lease, we have an opportunity to bring all of our Jersey City employees under one roof. The amenities of 525 Washington Avenue really align with our goals, and with our future. We’re really excited about what this transaction means, both for Jersey City and for our Jersey City employees.”
