Bayfront Transfer, Body-Cam Grant: Jersey City Council Preview
Several ordinances and resolutions are on the agenda for the Nov. 10 City Council meeting.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City's next City Council meeting is scheduled for today at 6 p.m. and the agenda is full of ordinances, resolutions and letter readings.
There are three ordinances on the agenda for a first reading, two for a second reading and 37 resolutions that will be voted on.
The Council meeting can be viewed online and is open to the public. Residents can speak during the public speak portion of the meeting, but must sign up before the meeting. A form can be submitted online to sign-up for public speak.

The council is voting to introduce an ordinance that would move a $170 million bond for the proposed Bayfront development, to the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency. The ordinance is on the agenda for a first reading.
"The city and the agency have further determined that in order to obtain the most advantageous interest rates with respect to such bonds and/or project notes that would be economical and otherwise advantageous to them and to the residents of the city, the city and the agency will enter into a subsidy agreement," the ordinance reads.

On the docket for resolutions, the council will vote to accept an amended resolution accepting a grant for body-worn cameras on Jersey City's Public Safety department. The resolution was originally accepted as $2,282,580 for body-worn cameras but is amended to $2,282,560.

A ceremonial resolution will be voted on to celebrate the life and memory of the late f Teresa R. Oglesby, who died on Oct. 24.
Oglesby was an Office Manager for DuroTest and ArrowWork. She later worked as a Teacher's Assistant at the Institute of Intriguing Minds (IOIM) until 2020 and was a parishioner of Grace Van Vorst, St. Matthew's Episcopal and most recently The Episcopal Church Of The Incarnation.
"Teresa Oglesby’s warrior-spirt, outgoing personality, helpful ways, and determination were an inspiration and source of comfort to her family and friends," the resolution reads.
