Hudson County Man Charged For 'Sexual Contact' With Girl, 6: Prosecutor

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Union City man has been arrested for sexual contact with a 6-year-old girl, prosecutors said Thursday.

Edgar Fernando-Gomez, 48, of Union City was arrested Wednesday at his home, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said that Fernando-Gomez has been charged with sexual assault by contact and endangering the welfare of a child.

The crimes were committed on May 19 at a residence in Jersey City, prosecutors said. They noted that Fernando-Gomez is known to the victim.

He was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility to await his first court appearance, prosecutors said.
