It's March, Jersey City. When Are Spring And Daylight Saving Time?
Hello, Jersey City:February was so short, you might not realize it's over. Here's where Daylight Saving Time and spring begin in March 2025.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Did February just fly by? Well, March is a longer month, with 31 days (and few holidays, much to kids' chagrin).
But here are some notable days for your March calendar:
Daylight Saving Time: East Coast residents will "spring ahead" next Sunday morning, March 9, changing our clocks from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. Sorry, but you lose an hour.

Spring: Spring begins at 5:01 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Thursday, March 20. During the vernal equinox, the sun will be directly above the equator. The season lasts until the summer solstice, or longest day of sunshine this year, on June 21.
Spring Break, Passover, Easter: Don't get ahead of yourself; all three holidays are in April this year. Passover begins the evening of Saturday, April 12. Good Friday is April 18, and Easter is April 20. Most schools will be closed either the week before or the week after Easter.

Incidentally, Passover will start on April 1 next year, but it won't begin in March until March 30, 2029. Easter will be April 5 next year. It will fall on March 28, 2027, April 16, 2028, and April 1, 2029.
