Jersey City Man Pinned Under Car During Crash In Linden

The 57-year-old Jersey City man sustained serious injuries, Linden police said.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City man was seriously injured when he was hit by a car in Linden on Wednesday.

The 57-year-old Jersey City man was pinned under a car on E. Elizabeth Ave in Linden. Workers from a nearby auto-body shop were able to lift the vehicle and help free him, Linden police said.

The man was treated on scene and taken to Newark University Hospital with serious injuries.

Linden police said the man was crossing E. Elizabeth Ave when he was hit by 2007 Kia SUV that was traveling west. The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old Linden man, was not injured in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau, and anyone with
