Jersey City Music Shop To Close Due To 'Rising Rents,' Offers Deals
A Jersey City music shop has lost its lease after nearly a quarter century, and is offering discounts.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — After nearly a quarter of a century on Jersey City's busy Newark Avenue, the music shop Metropolis NJ announced that it will close.
"It's with a heavy heart that we announce that we have finally lost our lease and will be closing this month. After 24 years on Newark Avenue," the shop said in a message.
"We're sad to go, but the rising rents have finally beat us. We will continue to do repairs and lessons in a new location, but the retail store will be closing."

They didn't reveal their closing date this month, or their next location.
Rents in Jersey City have become among the highest in the nation.

Offering Deals
They added, "We're dropping prices on all remaining inventory throughout the rest of May until it's all gone, so come on down and say hi and grab a deal!
Customers said they'd miss the shop.
"I would like to extend my sincerest sympathies in hearing about your store closing," wrote a fan on social media. " Although I'm not from or live in New Jersey (I'm from Long Island NY) I find it heartbreaking to hear this. Is there any chance you guys can relocate to another location where the lease is more affordable?? We need more shops like yours! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you."
