Jersey City Police, Prosecutor's Office Investigate Pedestrian Hit-And-Run

An 83-year-old woman was hit by a car on JFK boulevard and is in critical condition.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City police and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office are investigating a hit-and-run that left one pedestrian injured on Wednesday night.

The crash happened around 7:12 p.m. when a pedestrian was hit and injured by a car driving along John F. Kennedy Boulevard near Harrison Avenue on Wednesday. An 83-year-old Jersey City woman was seriously injured while she was trying to cross JFK Boulevard.

She was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center, where she is in critical condition.

The driver left the scene — police believe they are in a red/maroon sedan.

The crash is still under investigation. No charges have been filed.
