Driver Charged In Hudson County Hit-And-Run That Seriously Injured Woman

A man has been charged in a Jersey City hit-and-run that seriously injured a woman, prosecutors said.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A man has been charged in a Jersey City hit-and-run that seriously injured a woman in 2023.

Adrian Perez, 23, of Bayonne, was charged on Wednesday with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision resulting in serious bodily injury, and endangering an injured victim, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said that shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, 2023, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Barbara Place and Grand Street.

Police found a 37-year-old female victim with multiple serious injuries, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said that a Chevrolet Suburban that was driven by Perez left the scene.

He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released to await his first court appearance, prosecutors said.
