Man Guilty Of Murder In Jersey City Double Homicide: Prosecutors
A man was found guilty by a jury this month in a double fatal shooting in Jersey City in 2021, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — A man who had been implicated in a double fatal shooting in Jersey City in 2021 was found guilty this monthy of two counts of murder, said Hudson County prosecutors.
Omire Rios-Williams, 23, of Jersey City, was convicted by a Hudson County jury on June 9 of the murder charges, as well as four counts of attempted murder, four counts of aggravated assault, a count of conspiracy to commit murder, and weapons charges, prosecutors said.
His codefendant, Cooleone McNeil, 25, of Bayonne, had already been found guilty of first degree conspiracy to commit murder but not guilty on the remaining charges in the indictment, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said that shortly before 11 p.m. on May 21, 2021, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of shots fired in the area of Crescent Avenue and Brinkerhoff Street.
Police found six victims with apparent gunshot wounds, prosecutors said.

Jason Crutcher, 26, and Randolph Black Jr., 25, both of Jersey City were pronounced dead as a result of their injuries.
The four remaining victims suffered nonfatal injuries, prosecutors said.
Sentencing is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 5, prosecutors said.
The state was represented at trial by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutors David Feldman and Daniel Gilbert.
