Man Sentenced For Killing Jersey City Teen: Prosecutor
A Queens man was sentenced for killing a Jersey City juvenile when they were both teens, prosecutors said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Queens man was sentenced Monday for killing a Jersey City juvenile when they were both teens, prosecutors said.
Justin Goris, 20, of Queens had pleaded guilty in July to aggravated manslaughter in connection with the 2022 death of Devin Bryant, 15, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
On Monday, Judge Mitchell Pascual sentenced Goris to 15 years in New Jersey State Priso.

Goris’ sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act and he is parole ineligible until 85 percent of his sentence is serve, prosecutors said.
Goris, who was 17 at the time of the fatal shooting, was initially charged as a juvenile before being waived to the Criminal Division, prosecutors said.

On Feb. 12, 2022, members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to the area of 112 Myrtle Ave. on a report of shots fired. Bryant was found with an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center at approximately 9:10 p.m.
The state was represented by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Dennis Murray.
