Murder Charge For Jersey City Man In Saturday Night Stabbing

A 55-year-old man has been charged in the stabbing death of an unidentified victim on Cambridge Avenue.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A 55-year-old Jersey City man faces a murder charge in connection with a Saturday night stabbing on Cambridge Avenue, according to police.

Steven Bardsley has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon, Harris County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a news release.

Jersey City police responded to the 100 block of Cambridge Avenue just after 10 p.m. Saturday, where they found a man with at least one stab wound to his neck. The man was pronounced dead at the Jersey City Medical Center at 10:20 p.m.

The fatal victim remained unidentified as of early Sunday afternoon, Suarez said.

Bardsley was found shortly after on Central Avenue, where he was arrested.
