Queens Trio Charged For Life Insurance Fraud By Hudson County Prosecutor

One of the arrested men "obtained two life insurance policies for an individual without their consent," said the Hudson County prosecutor.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Three residents of Ozone Park, Queens, were charged last Thursday with offenses related to fraudulent life insurance policies, prosecutors said.

Auditya Ramotar, 69, was charged with tampering with records, theft of identity, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and insurance fraud, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday.

Leona Ramroop, 58, was charged with falsifying records and two counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud.

Bhogewattie Ramotar, 57, was charged with conspiracy to commit insurance fraud.

They have been arrested and released on a summons, prosecutors said.

"The investigation found Auditya Ramotar, in his role as a licensed insurance provider, fraudulently obtained two life insurance policies for an individual without their consent. Ramroop, a phlebotomist, generated falsified medical records to support fraudulent claims that would benefit
accounts associated with Auditya and Bhogewattie Ramotar."
