NJ Man Charged With Murder Of Father And Son In Hudson County

Prosecutors charged an East Orange man with a second count of murder after a father and son were killed in Hudson County last November.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A father and son were killed in a Guttenberg home five days before Thanksgiving, by an East Orange man, prosecutors said on Friday.

Lamont Cole, 40, was initially arrested at the Hudson County Correctional Facility back in January and charged with one count of murder, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said at the time. But a new charge has been added, prosecutors announced Friday.

Cole was first charged in the death of Justo Bory, 87, after the Regional Medical Examiner's Office said the cause of death was compression of the neck, prosecutors had said.

Then, in late February, the medical examiners found that Ricardo Bory, 58, died from "homicidal violence," prosecutors said. Cole has now been charged in his death as well.

Prosecutors said that on Nov. 23, shortly after 10 p.m., the Guttenberg Police Department was notified of two unresponsive men inside a home at 209 71st St.

The men were identified later as Justo Bory and Ricardo Bory.

Guttenberg police initially arrested Cole that day for interfering with the investigation, prosecutors said.
