Teen Identified As Victim In Mid-Day Jersey City Shooting

A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed in an establishment on Commuinpaw Avenue.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office identified the victim of Thursday's fatal shooting as 16-year-old Pedro Rodriguez.

The shooting happened at 600 Commuinpaw Avenue — police were called at 11:45 a.m. and found the teen unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Rodriguez was pronounced dead at 12 p.m.

The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department. No arrests have been made at this time.
