Woman Hit By Federal Agent In Jersey City Dies Of Injuries

Last month, the woman was crossing Route 139 at Baldwin Avenue when she was hit by a federal agent.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A woman who was hit by a federal agent while crossing the street in Jersey City last month died of her injuries.

The woman, identified by NJ.com as Carmelina Tusa, 58, was crossing Route 139 at Baldwin Avenue when she was hit by a federal agent. Route 139 is a state highway that leads to and from the Holland Tunnel in Jersey City. The crash happened on the morning of Oct. 22 — the woman was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center.

Tusa's husband Juan told NJ.com that she was kept on life support in the hospital for a week before the decision was made that her injuries were too far gone. She was taken off of life support over the weekend.
