Lacey Man Pleads Guilty To Tax Fraud
A Lacey resident who worked as president and co-owner of Discovery Refuse Management pleaded guilty Wednesday for filing a false tax return.
TRENTON, NJ — A Lacey resident who worked as president and co-owner of Discovery Refuse Management pleaded guilty Wednesday for filing a false personal tax return with the IRS, according to the Criminal Investigation Newark Field Office.
Robert Dixon, 57, of Forked River, failed to report $796,373 on his 2010 tax return, the Criminal Investigation Newark Field Office said. Dixon entered his plea via video conference before a Trenton judge.
In 2008, a plea agreement between Dixon and the State of New Jersey in connection with a prior matter ordered Dixon to divest himself of his entire interest in DRM, according to court documents.

Dixon agreed to sell 100 percent of the stock in DRM for about $1,000,000. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection rejected the sale and instead Dixon sold DRM for $100,000 on Feb. 1, 2010.
After the sale of DRM became effective, Dixon received distributions from DRM bank accounts on multiple dates in 2010 and 2011. Dixon admitted that he failed to report $796,373 in distributions as capital gains on his 2010 tax return.
