Lacey Pizzeria One Of NJ's Best For 3rd Year In A Row

LACEY, NJ — Pizza. It's what keeps New Jerseyans going. And with a plethora of pizzerias statewide, everyone has their own personal favorite.

Lifestyle and tourism website Best of NJ put together an updated list of the best pizza and pizzerias in the state for 2023.

The list picks the best of North Jersey, Central Jersey, South Jersey and of course, the Jersey Shore.

For the third year in a row, a Forked River spot was honored as one of NJ's best.

That pizzeria is Mimmo's Pizza, Pasta & Subs, located at 336 Lacey Rd.

"It's hard to beat authentic Italian cooking from a chef born and raised in Naples, Italy," Best of NJ writes. "That's exactly what patrons can expect at Mimmo's."

There's tons of different kinds of pizzas you can try here, from different toppings to specialty pizzas, gourmet pizzas and even several different types of white pies.

For those with specific dietary needs, Mimmo's offers a cauliflower crust too.

Some of their pizzas include a mac n' cheese bites pizza, a vegan bruschetta pizza and the mezaluna (half calzone, half pizza).

While pizza is often cited as Mimmo's best offering, they also serve a variety of other Italian entrees.

As the name would suggest, there's a variety of pastas sold, plus gluten free and whole wheat options if needed.

Enjoy subs like a classic Italian, parmigiana or "the Godmother," which comes with a breaded chicken cutlet and vodka sauce.

"I am humbled by the recognition and truly blessed to have amazing customers in a wonderful community that support our small business," owner Domenico Costagliola told Patch. "I know that there are a lot of choices and it's a wonderful feeling to be noticed."
