Lacey Police Investigating Theft Of Semi-Automatic Handgun From Forked River Home

Homeowner last saw gun in December, discovered it was missing in March.

Lacey police are looking for whoever stole a semi-automatic handgun from a home in the 600 block of Forest Lane in Forked River, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer George Resetar responded to the home at 8:56 a.m. on March 9 on a report of a stolen handgun. The homeowner told police that he was moving his firearms to a different location in the home and discovered that a handgun with a magazine was missing from one of gun cases, the chief said.

The case still contained one magazine, a weapon lock and the owner’s manual. The missing handgun is described as a black semi-automatic 9 millimeter Springfield XD MOD.2 series, DiBella said.

The victim told police he last saw the gun in December of 2016and did not discover it missing it until March 9, 2017, the chief said.

The handgun was entered into NCIC, APBnet and distributed to all local law enforcement agencies, DiBella said.
